What is offline conversion tracking?
Offline conversion tracking reports conversions that happen away from your website, such as a closed sales call, a signed contract, or a phone order, back to the ad platform that drove the original click.
The problem it solves
A browser pixel can only see what happens on the website. For a call-driven, high-ticket, or lead-generation business, the actual sale happens later and elsewhere, so the ad platforms are blind to it. They optimise toward form fills and bookings because that is all they can measure, not toward the deals that actually close.
How it works
When someone clicks an ad, the click id (a GCLID for Google, fbclid for Meta) is captured. If that person later becomes a closed deal in your CRM, the conversion is uploaded back to the platform with the click id attached, on a delay so the click has registered. The platform matches it to the click and can now optimise toward real revenue.
Why it moves the needle
Smart Bidding is only as good as the conversions you feed it. Feed it closed revenue and it learns to find buyers. Trakt attributes offline sales first-party and uploads them to Google Ads offline conversions and the Meta Conversions API, deduplicated so nothing counts twice.
